Wot's... Uh Deal
Pink Floyd
Note: the many tabs already submitted here sound terrific and are likely more accurate
(based on the actual sheet music released by the band itself, I might add), but many years back I
scanned these pages for a 'start', but wound up picking out some bits of the song as I prefer to
play it by ear.

What follows is that acoustic version, which while I'm certain not everyone will agree,
has always felt and sounded like a and "full" 6-string/1-voice representation of the song.

Floyd's own sheet music does show an open 2nd/ string in their tab for the verses, which is
somewhat closer to most tabs I've seen here (Open on the 2nd string)... Some may hear that
the 'G' of the 1st string doesn't sit there through each change of the verse, but in fact steps
down to , , etc. My own variation is based more upon what I felt rounded out the notes of the

tabs...just a personal preference.

One last note, which I found the Floyd sheet music did get correct, but many tabs missed, is the
chord changes in the chorus: Some show a / / / (??) / - some others skip the and miss
the vital step-down to . One last key difference from the sheet music (and other tabs) was where
I've always heard/played a standard , they show an . Seems we're all picking out the same chord
regardless of what they say!

Enjoy and your feedback is appreciated!

Pink Floyd - Wots...Uh The Deal?
[From their 1968 album Obscured By Clouds]

Intended for Acoustic Guitar / Solo voice

 - - - * - // - - ()

Complete: [Lyrics aligned with tab for first phrase, as an example.]

Begin: Play through verse section once, then repeat with lyrics.

Hea-ven sent the promised land..., looks al-rig-ht from where I stand..., now I'm the man on the

   out-side lookin in...

Waiting on the first step, show me where the key is kept.

Point me down the right line, because it's time...

>Chorus<
To let me in from the cold, turn my lead into gold,

                                                                    ()
'cause there's a chill wind blowin in my soul and I think I'm growin old

>2nd Verse<

Flash the readies, wots... uh the deal? Got to make it to the next meal.

Try to keep up with the turning of the wheel.

Mile after mile (after), stone after stone (after) - turn to speak but you're alone...

A million miles from home, you're on your own.

>Chorus<
So let me in from the cold, turn my lead into gold,

                                                                    ()
'cause there's a chill wind blowin' in my soul and I think I'm growin' old

[In the actual song, the Piano & Guitar Solo happen here]
  - feel free to play through the Chorus chords once (or x3 - twice for piano, once for guitar solo),
but only if you aim to replicate perfectly, otherwise continue straight on to the 3rd verse

>3rd Verse<

Fire bright by candlelight with her by my side -

If she prefers we will never stir again.

Someone sent the promised land, and I grabbed it with both hands.

Now I'm the man on the inside lookin out -

>Final Chorus<

Hear me shout, "Come on in!" What's the news? Where you been?

                                                     ()
'Cause there's no wind left in my soul, and I've grown old...

[Repeat Chorus chords and End. In the album version they simply fade out quickly around a chord while the
 band improvises around it.]
