No capo in the original version, but if you can sing as low as Leonard Cohen (I can!) then you're doing well.
This is the lowest key you'll ever need it in, just capo it up as you need to!  :)

 -  -  x 4 - if you want to replicate the bass line in the intro and you're just strumming,
then do these as barre chords and just hit the top three strings. Strumming pattern I've used is 
-U--U-U-Dmute-Umute 

But I've found you can just play a standard  chord and just lift off the  string to kind of make a 
reasonably acceptable sound.
